How to print coloring pages from a phone or tablet

You don't need a computer to print a coloring page. Download the PDF and print from your iPhone, iPad, or Android at full size — no extra app needed.

1. What you need

Three things: your coloring page downloaded as a PDF, a phone or tablet connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer, and Letter or A4 paper loaded. AirPrint and Android printing are built in, so most printers need no extra app.

2. Download the PDF first

Generate your page in the free coloring-page generator and tap Download PDF. The PDF carries the paper size and margins, which is what lets your phone print the page at full scale.

3. Print from an iPhone or iPad (AirPrint)

  1. Open the PDF from the Files app, or tap the download in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share icon, then choose Print.
  3. Select your printer, set Paper Size to Letter or A4, and set the scale to 100%.
  4. Tap Print. Check the preview before printing — it shows exactly how the page will land on the paper.

4. Print from an Android phone or tablet

  1. Open the PDF from your Files or Drive app.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu and choose Print.
  3. Pick your printer. If none appears, enable the Default Print Service in Settings and search again.
  4. Set Paper size to Letter or A4, scaling to 100%, then tap Print.

5. If your printer is not detected

  • Check the Wi-Fi: the phone and the printer must be on the same network.
  • Use the printer brand app: HP Smart, Canon PRINT, Epson iPrint, and Brother iPrint&Scan all open PDFs and add the right printer drivers.
  • Try email printing: many printers accept pages by email — send the PDF to the printer's print address from the printer manual.

6. Fix common phone-printing problems

  • The page prints too small: open the print preview and set scaling to Actual size or 100% — not Fit to page.
  • The page is cropped: the paper size in the print dialog must match the size chosen in the generator.
  • Lines look soft: print the PDF, not the PNG, and choose the highest print quality in the dialog.

7. FAQ

Do I need an app to print from my phone?

Usually no. iPhones and iPads use the built-in AirPrint feature, and most Android phones use the built-in Default Print Service. A printer brand app is only needed when your printer is not detected automatically.

Should I download PDF or PNG for phone printing?

PDF. It carries the paper size and margins, so your phone's print dialog can place the page correctly. PNG is best kept for digital coloring on a tablet.

Why does my printed page come out smaller than the paper?

The print dialog applied Fit to page or another scaling option. Open the print preview, set scaling to Actual size or 100%, and match the paper size to the one chosen in the generator.
